Watched Your Mom And Her Routine
Think when we are young and growing up, have you watched your Mom without even knowing you were? I know I did, I never realized till later on that I did watch her and I needed to be there.
To see her morning routine, and I always wondered what she was doing in the bathroom every Saturday morning. She did this each day, but I missed her on weekdays. Her routine also was to line up all she needed on the edge of the bathroom sink too.
This was what I did every Saturday morning, I rushed into the bathroom to watch my mom do what she did for her routine. Here is what she did:
- Wash her face, and then she was caring for her face after that. That is what I watched and asked questions, why she did what she does.
- Apply lotion to her face to protect it from the elements outside(sun, wind, etc.)
- When it came to makeup- foundation cream/stick,concealer, eye shadow and light beige lipstick.
- After that was all done, she did her hair. Refresh her curls (she used rollers at night)
I found out that this was way more than just a routine.
It was care, consistency and done with intention. Little did I know that this was shaped me to do what I do each day, my own skincare routine for myself.
Watching your mom every morning, created my habits without even knowing it.
My Routine was learned (I didn’t even know it)
Watched my Mom-who I looked up to. Which created patterns/habits were made.
It’s why today, many of us follow a routine. Feeling like we always did it, and we just continue with it. Not knowing you may have watched or followed someone without even knowing you were.
You now get to decide how your routine will look like going forward.
Somthing simple.

My Everyday Beauty Routine
I have come to realize I have my own routine also.
Something that works for me-simple and easy, don’t take much time.
My day looks like:
- Shower/get dressed
- apply lotion and some sunscreen to protect my skin
- Use a light powder to reduce shine
- put perfume on
- brush and fix my curls
Simple, easy and gets me set for my day right away.
