Dump cakes to save the day. I know when we are in a hurry and need a quick cake then this should be your go-to. Need a cake that takes little effort. Then these are for you. I know there are times when you feel like having cake for dessert and just don’t know what you want to make. These are a good go to cake. Simple easy to make and everyone will love it. Especially if you also have some ice cream to top of the cake with.
Need a quick easy cake, especially if peaches are in your back yard. Good to have this recipe when your peaches are ready in the summer. Depending on which ones you have -early or late peaches.
But do remember that you need the syrup for this cake also. So maybe if you canned your peaches this would be good for that. If you haven’t eaten all your peaches. Cause they sure don’t last long in my house.
Peach Easy Dump Cake
- One box White cake mix
- can of peaches, not drained
- about 3/4 c. butter, cut in small cubes
Now you will need a good size pan for your cake, a 3-quart pan may work. You will know the size you like when you first make this cake. Grease the cake pan and place your peaches in. Top of that would be your cake mix, then your butter pats. Placed randomly on the top of the cake mix. DO NOT MIX OR STIR!!! Bake this at 350 deg. for about 35-40 minutes. Or until you see it is bubbling, then you can check and maybe take it out.
Now you asked for dump cakes to save the day!! This one is my go to when I am in a pinch. You can decide if you want to use can peaches and fresh peaches. It is up to you.
I like these kind of cakes when you are told last minute that you need a cake. Or invited to go to visit a family member and decide to whip up a cake, then this should be one you should try. Black Forest Dump Cake
- 1 box chocolate cake mix( devils food cake works)
- 2 cans(21 oz. each) cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup of butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
You will want to preheat your oven to 350°F. Then you can grease your 13×9″ baking dish. Add the pie filling to cover the bottom and sprinkle your cake mix on top of it. Do not stir it. Place the butter slices on top of mix, and sprinkle your chocolate chips over top. Bake your cake for 35-40 minutes or until you see it bubble. Cool before serving.
Apple Caramel Pecan Dump Cake
- 2 cans (21oz each) apple pie filling
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 c. butter, cut into slices
- a handful of chopped pecans
- half cup of caramel sauce
Now preheat your oven to 350°F. and grease your 13×9″baking pan. Now, spread the pie filling all over the bottom and then sprinkle the cake mix over top. Then, place butter over top placed evenly. Now you would add the pecans over top. Drizzle the caramel sauce over top all of this. Remember you are not to stir this. Is why it is called a dump cake. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until it bubbles. Cool this before you serve it.
No matter what kind of cake mix you would choose. It is all up to you what you have on hand. What kinds of pie filling you have or even just canned fruit. Don’t be afraid to try and test for yourself. But as you read the recipe you would see the basics for each recipe and you can easily modify to your taste. Don’t just follow a recipe, go and create your very own. When you do, you may want to write it down, so you will be able to recreate it again.
Go and have fun and try and experiment for yourself. Making your own version of a dump cake. Remember you can always have ice cream on the side of these cakes also. Great combination for sure, or maybe even whip cream.
