Eye Sight is one of our most important senses as it enables us to read, learn, work and enjoy life.
I know as we grow up we don’t think too much about our eye sight until we struggle seeing something in school. Then we need glasses or not.
I know I always wondered if I would need glasses eventually. Cause my mom wore glasses and so did my Grandpa. So many of my aunts and uncles did too. But that what was in the back of my mind when I started Highschool. Then I struggled seeing the black board or projector screen.
My eye sight was changing when:
- I struggled seeing the chalkboard or projector screen in highschool
- hard to see street signs
- hard to see images far away
- couldn’t see the details of trees like I used to
This made me really look into what was going on. So I thought maybe I just didn’t have a good sleep. Nope that was not it. When my grades started to struggle, it was time to tell my mom what was going on. Cause I did tell my teacher, and he said I needed to tell my mom. Cause even moving to the third row from the front, only helped me a little bit. I still had to get up to see the fine print.
The Glasses I now Wear:
Computer Glasses- these are custom made for my needs. For the distance of where I sit to wear my screen is. Also, blue filter is added to them too. This helps with the screen stress on my eyes.
Progressive Glasses- I have these for everyday use. These have my reading glass prescription in them also. And the far away distance seeing in them also. So basically a two in one.
The progressives too a while to adjust to, it was hard. But it was worth it because before I had two pairs of glasses. One to read and one to see everyday. So I was doing alot of on/off with each pair, especially if I was on the computer.
Computer Glasses
Yes, they exist
- custom made for your needs
- eye prescription for the reading portion of your glasses
- they can be made especially for your circumstances- distance from the computer and especially if your have more than one monitor
- ask for Blue Filter to be added also
You just need to go to your Optomitrist and tell them you are in need of these. Of course they do cost you to get some. But believe me they are so worth it and I love mine.
