I finally bought a pool, kids were always asking for one. I always said no, until this year I said yes. They are so happy we have one now. Swimming in it every day, unless it rains. Way warmer than going to the lake, cause that is so cold. We only would go to the lake about once every 2 weeks. So I think this is way better, and kids love having it. Love floating on the water at the lake, you can do that too at home now in your own pool.
Plus Side Of Having a Pool
- No need to drive to get there
- you only need to walk to get to it
- privacy
- no need to buy snacks
- just go inside when you get hungry
- don’t have to always blow up your floaty
- can easily hang your own towel at home
What Can You Do In a Pool?
Go swimming when it is hot outside. Kids can go swimming when they want and even invite friends over. You can even use your floaty and float and have a drink poolside. Enjoy the quiet of being at home and not around a lot of people. Which is another reason why I am glad I finally bought a pool.
I love using my floatie in the pool, and just relaxing and listening to nature. When I get hot I do jump in the water and cool down. Kids join me also or even grandkids and we all can either swim or float. But we are all spending time together and having fun. I usually only stick around in the pool till I get hungry or I know I have to go inside. I can usually be out there for a couple hours, which is a good way to relax.
Going to The Lake vs Pool
When I used to go to the lake to go swimming, it took a lot to go. Why? Because I needed to know ahead of time so I could plan. Make sure I wasn’t working or had appointments that I needed to do. Let’s say I am not busy and I could go. So I need to make sure we all had the right clothes on, and towels for swimming. Then we need our floaties and our pump for them also. Then water bottles and snacks from the store, which meant shopping first before we even left. Ok, so let’s say that is all done and now we are ready to go- an hour later. Jump in the truck and off we go.
When we get to the lake, hope to find a spot to sit. A vacant bench or even a patch of grass if that is all that is left. We only need an area of water to swim in and we should be ok. After all this and we are at the lake, the kids decide the water is too cold to swim. Let alone even stick their feet in or even walk in up to their knees.
With a pool, it is less stressful for me and no loading up anything. Except for bringing my towel to the pool and making sure I have my correct sandals on. I always need to ask the kids if they have their towels and to hang them up too. But at least we don’t leave towels down the lake now, not even outside. Everyone takes care of what they need when they go swimming. Less stress on me and they have so much fun too. So you see it was better to just break down and get a pool
The only regret is I may choose a bigger pool next time. Cause this one is 15″ but it could of been bigger, more room. I am glad though that I finally bought a pool and have no regrets on doing it. Just that I should of done this last year!
Relaxing And Back To Work!
I love how I can just go for a quick swim or just a dip in the pool to cool off. Then grab my towel and dry off and go inside and just get back to work. That easy and simple and can’t do that when I go to the lake. Cause there is a lot of clean-up after we come back home. Also, the drive back home is so hot too. Way easier having the pool just in my backyard. Now, I love what I do and if you are wondering what I do. Go check it out and see it here:
