Have you ever thought is a phrase I find myself saying alot. I have so many thoughts that run through my head alot. And I just think that many need to hear what I have and need to say. I just don’t know where to start or how to start. But here it goes, and I will just add my thoughts as links to other pages as I find them. I always have these thoughts, even more, when I am not even trying to think of them. The same goes for when your struggling with things. I found this book to be very useful and you may also.
We all have these random thoughts drop in our heads at all times of the day. Not even really noticing that they are happening. Sometimes they are just- I gotta remember to do that, make sure I don’t forget. I have most of my thoughts happen when I do my daily morning walk or even just sit outside by myself having a cup of tea or drinking water.
Write them down and be sure to date them also. Just for a mental note for yourself, when these thoughts happened. Just because you never know what your little thought may become. Remember we are not analyzing it, just jotting it down. Helps free your mind of these thoughts, helping you to be more relaxed.
Techniques That Help
These are just a few ideas that may work for you. Just pick one and try it out. My use of these varies, I love watching the scenery, and sometimes I need to color, or read.
- focus your breathing— breath in 4, hold for 5 and release for 8. Or you can pick your own numbers, which work for you. 4-4-4 ,may work also.
- grounding exercises– you can combine breathing and counting back from 6. See if that helps you. You can go outside, and stand barefoot on the ground. Or even watch the trees blow, focus on things in the outdoors. I like watching the leaves move or clouds, just something else to focus on.
- Do something to distract yourself– color in a coloring book, read a book. listen to some music. Or go outside and go for a walk/listen to music.
Have you Lost A loved One Recently?
I know I have lost both of my parents already. When I lost my son that was a hard one I thought for sure would take me down. I knew when I lost my mom it was the hardest I had ever done. No one wants to lose a parent, let alone their mom. That sure took me down, I spiraled out of sync with life for probably 6 months, 3 months were hard. At that time, I knew I had to wake up out of that fog and come back. It was hard, but I did it or I wouldn’t be here right now.
I recently have just hit to two year mark for my son being gone. It was a tough day yesterday and I know each year gets better. I remember our conversations just like they were yesterday. I know this road of loss is tough, but I do not focus on him being gone. I focus on all the memories I got with my son and the son he left behind. I look at my grandson and he looks just like him when he was younger.
Coping and managing the loss of a loved one is always different for everyone. Do what works for you, or seek help when you know you are stuck or just can’t do it yourself.
So no matter what you have to deal with there is always a better side of it. Just make sure you are on the right side or you may find you are going down a path of not moving on.
Take a Walk And Enjoy Nature
I take a morning walk every day except for weekends. I take the time to listen to my music and just get out of the house and go for a walk. I love seeing the birds flying and the quietness of it all, see an occasional eagle go by is even better. I take time out of my walk and look around alot and just stand in amazement of all that is around me. All the beautiful things that has been created for us to enjoy. I love to just soak in the sun and enjoy all that is around me. Wether it be the clouds or the sun, or just the mountains. So take the time to go for a walk and just get outside and enjoy all that is around you.
Have you ever thought- time to enjoy your surrounding and actually be present. Look at all things around you, and even underneath your feet. What do you hear? See? I notice that many don’t even think about things like that. So next time go for a walk and pay attention to all around you. Enjoy your walk. It does the body good and you will be for refreshed after.
Stop And Watch a Catapillar Crawl By
I was out on my walk today and something stopped me, and I realized there was a catapillar crawling by. I stopped and watched this cute little thing go by. Just to enjoy what nature has to offer, even if it was just a catapillar. I guess I just needed to take that moment and watch it, paused my break for probably 3 minutes.
Been a while since I had seen an orange and black catapillar, probably over 15 years. This made me think and wonder when. Probably when I used to stop and watch catapillars with my 2 younger boys, when we used to go out on our daily walk. So with seeing that, helped me remember the past and all that I have survived and made it to where I am right now. So have you ever thought that maybe I was meant to see that catapillar-to have that memory come to me?
Ever Stop and Be Grateful For Waking Up Today
Ever think that you need to say your grateful for each day you wake up. Be grateful to be here and are awake to start another day. If you think you did bad or did nothing yesterday, remember today is a new day and a fresh start. No need to relive the past but just know you can change what you do today. So have you ever thought that each day is a new day and you can basically reset every time you wake up. If you want to be a better person, make that today!!!! You want to forgive someone, then make that today!!!! Being grateful to wake up today and make the change you need to make yourself a better version of you.
What Works for Me to Destress
Being a Mom and the head of the household is alot to manage. Yes, we manage it all, and don’t even blink an eye. No one knows all that we do, or even ask what we do or even think we need any help. I believe things are better done by myself, that way I know they are done right. Even when I worked away from home I took so much on. And even more when I got home, and had to do more.
So just know I have been there, and when I started to get burnt out I knew I had to learn to slow down. Or maybe even pace myself. Something had to change. That is when I started to think of destressing. Which are part of my random thoughts I was having. I didn’t even know that they were related. My thoughts were telling me to listen to music, or take the time to color. Making me go for a walk, or just go and stretch and do it outside.
Try these:
- Reading
- I work on my jigsaw puzzle
- I crochet.
- color in my coloring book, that really calms me down.
- I used to do fill-in word puzzles.
- a walk out in nature.
No matter what you do, you need to watch for the signs that let you know you need to relax. You are over stressed and need some Me time. Before your body does it for you, you may get sick or get injured. Having your body breakdown is what we don’t want. Catch it before it gets that far. Recognize the signs that your body and self need some good quality rest time. Me time is what I like to call it.
We all need our own time. Time to recharge ourselves, so we can do all we do.
So again remember those thoughts you are having are good. Maybe they are telling you something, be sure to listen.
