How to Unwind and Destress

How to unwind and destress after a tough day of work. I know I have an easy job as some think it is not even actual work. Mainly cause I sit at my desk and I am typing and working most of the day. Or I am talking on the phone most of the day. Family walks in and they can’t tell if I am really working or am I just looking busy. It’s kind of a bit of both, and sometimes I will open up my computer game. That’s when they think I am just playing a game and looking like I am working. But I am actually taking time to unwind.

I know I was always asked in these past few years how do I get rid of stress. Well depends on what you label as stress or just you doing to many things you know you can’t. Many I know do this, say they will do this and this. Then remember that they were already doing something or two other things, doing all of it at once. Or they were always a busy person and they never took the time to destress or basically take care of themselves.

Take Care of Yourself

I always was told to do this, and I would say that I do take care of myself. I lied, I never really did. Well, I took a walk every day. But I never saw it as clearing my head or in any way of it benefiting me at all. Now I look at my walk as enjoying my walk and listening to my music. Actually enjoying my music and loving the scenery, is another way to unwind and destress.

Think about some good ways to take care of yourself and your health. Start to think of ways you can do some self care for you, which helps you to be less stressed. Maybe you love to read? Or go for walks or hikes? A bubble bath and play music, or even listening to nature. A moment to yourself- being alone with your thoughts like meditating. No matter how you care for yourself just remember to always keep up with it. Don’t just do this for a month or so, keep it on going and do it for you. We do need these reminders every so often or we just make it a habit and go from there.

My Other Way To Unwind

I love to play video games, I have always played them. This is my way to relax since I play simple games not interactive games. I play simple Nintendo games and I also love my xbox one games too. The simple games I love are arcade games, I always play the same ones over and over. When I play my games, I listen to my music in my iPod with my headphones on. This is how I unwind and destress.

My other way is I love to color with my pencil crayons. I even bought some new ones and they have some beautiful colors in the case also. I love exploring new colors and just focusing on what I am coloring. I bought myself some great new books to color also. You would be amazed at what you could find on Amazon and all the color books there are to buy. I found this great unicorn book and love all the unicorns there is to color. But of course, since I love them all, I am afraid to color them now. Cause I don’t want to wreck any of them by choosing the wrong colors. But I reminded myself why I got the book and just colored them anyways. I know I will get better, but only with some practice and I know that now.

I love Crocheting and Watching TV

I love crocheting and catching up with my PVR and my shows. I have made many blankets for myself and grandkids. So I started to look at other things to make, for now I chose dishclothes. Cause I need them and why not make my own. Made by Me and with my own hands. I have a few other projects I need to get done also. I bought a few animal stuffy patterns I want to make and also a crochet bag for my daughter that I still have to make. So for now, I only do simple easy crocheting cause this is how I unwind and destress. So no need for a complicated pattern and get stressed and not unwinding.

Schedule Some Time To Unwind

This is what we all need to do to unwind and destress. Set a time of the week or even day when you know you can totally be in the moment. Reminding yourself that this is how to unwind and destress and how you will feel great. Devoting some time for your own self-care and your own well-being. Just decide on how much time you think you will need and how long it will be. Even down to how often you will need it. Depending on your work and homelife and how much stress you are under.

We are all different and only you know yourself and what you need. So if you need lots, then schedule time each day. Even if its during work time, you can even just do some breathing exercises. You would be amazed at how just a bit of breathing properly just clears your mind. Or you can even go and look on YouTube and see what other ideas they have there for unwinding. I love listening to Iyana Vanzant and some motivational videos. But again we all have our own ways, but just remember to schedule it.
