It’s that time of the year again, love Christmas shopping and so much to do. Are you one that dreads this time of year, mainly cause of all the shopping you have to do? Or even all the decorating you have to do, or is it the spending money that gets you. Or are you the one that throws the Christmas dinner, that all the family comes to your place to enjoy.
I have just noticed recently, that a few of my friends dread this time of year. Mainly cause they have lots of shopping to do. And don’t make much money to splurge on these gifts. But they do love their family and do the best that they can. This is when I thought-here is some help for them. Basically it’s for anyone that loves to save some money. Or even get something that didn’t cost so much to get.
So when your looking for that next great gift, remember to come here and check it out. Even just show up and browse, or be there when they drop new items each day. Be the first one to buy, not just add to cart. Adding to cart doesn’t save it if someone else buys it.
Love Christmas Shopping is Not for Everyone
I know many people that just don’t look forward to all that shopping. I am one of those people. I am glad that I can easily just get some gift cards for my family members and be done. I only buy gifts for my household/close family. I used to love Christmas shopping when my kids were small. Cause I knew exactly what they wanted and that made it so easy.
Watching my kids open gifts was so much fun when they were little. They lit up for every gift and had so much fun.
What I used to do for Christmas Time When Kids were Little
I used to do lots for my kids when they were little.
- We would make and bake cookies, and ice them also.
- We would also make ice cream floats and add sprinkles and whip cream to them.
- Also, make paper chains for the house, out of construction paper.
- Spray fake snow from a can-on the windows and decorate with tinsel all over.
- Hang garland over my door frames and doors also
- Christmas lights in the Front window and on the front door, and down the railing of the stairs.
We always looked forward to this time of year. They spend time with their Grandma also, I am so glad my kids had her in their life when they were little. She is now gone, but least they have some memories of her and the fun they had with her. She loved taking them on walks, just so I could decorate my place. Then she would help us all ice the cookies, after they came out of the oven. She so enjoyed doing that with her grandchildren.
Christmas Day was a great day. My mom lived just downstairs, and I would call her when she could come up and open presents with us. She usually had a morning coffee with us too. Sometimes the kids would make her some toast if she hadn’t eaten yet. She got so much excitement out of watching her grandkids opening their gifts. I know my mom didn’t love Christmas Shopping, but she did it anyways.
My mom did help me with wrapping gifts, as there was so much to do. Kids love Christmas shopping when it was for them. They only would do the shopping if they could also get a gift for themselves also. Of course I would limit the amount to $3- they always got some chocolate or POG cards(my son would get)
I know my kids love Christmas time and love that I am here to enjoy it with them. Even if we are just sitting around, I can feel the love my kids have for me. The smiles on their faces when they look at me, I know they are remembering all the great times we have had. And continue to have, each year is a great memory that we love and share all the time.
Remember snowball fights, or building snow forts when we were lucky enough to get snow just before xmas day. When forts were built I couldn’t ever get my boys to come inside. They would stay outside till their cheeks were so red and frozen. When they could no longer talk they would know it was time to come inside and have some hot chocolate. Just to warm up and once they were warm enough- it was time to play Nintendo.
Now I am A Grandma/Momma Myself
Being a Grandma or a Momma as I am called. I see how much times have changed and realize I don’t do all that fun stuff I did for my kids when they were little. Those kids are much older now, and my grand kids are not into that stuff. But sometimes I wonder would they if I started doing that stuff for them? But I also start to think I am just not so full of energy as when I was younger. Do I even have it in me to do? Nah, don’t think so.
But I do love getting the gift cards and seeing everyone’s excitement. And I can just sit back and enjoy everyone. Cause I love Christmas Shopping when it’s all done and then it’s time to just enjoy everyone. Knowing everyone is all under one roof and we are blessed to have each other.
Everyone feels the love after they eat the dinner I had prepared for everyone on Christmas Day.
Why not Take the Ease off Of Christmas Time
Try not to get too overwhelmed around this time of year. Just take it day by day, do your best and try not to stress. Or maybe your a person that just loves this time of year, and are just having so much fun with it all. Sometimes, it is all about getting Family together in one spot. That only happens at this time of year. A great time for family memories and laughter. Take lots of pictures and have some fun too.
You ever think of having someone else wrap your gifts for you? That is another thing you can do to help yourself too. Or even better, just put it in a gift bag, way easier.
