Mother’s day means a lot to us all. A way to honor our own mother for making it possible for you to be here. She took it upon herself to bring you into this world. Loved and cherished you and raised you to be who you are now. She had done her best to do what she could to make you into the person you are.
We owe alot to our mom’s for doing what they do for us. Or even what they did, if they have passed on. I know I still honor my mom even though she is gone to the spirit world. She made me who I am, and my upbringing is what made me more of who I became to be.
Gift For Mom
Gifts for mom are meant to be special, and really give it some thought. Don’t be the one that just goes out and gets them flowers. I love getting jewelry from my kids when this day comes around. But there is only so much you can get and be able to wear in a lifetime. Again I still think that quality time with your mom is still the best gift. Cause that is memories that will last a lifetime and be cherished forever. But you could help your mom live that much longer and be healthier by gifting her some boxes of snaps. Pick which ones you think she would love or do a sample box. She is sure to love these and thank you for the gift.
My Mom
My mom did the best she could do for me. She didn’t know much about being a mom, she had no real role model to follow. My grandmother left her and her siblings when she was young. But I believe that is the norm with being First Nations. Not many know what it takes to be a parent and not many stick around to figure it out. I think it was just easier for them to take off. So with that, my mom had done the best she could with the little she did know. But I am glad that she took that on, or I wouldn’t be here!!
I believe that all that I went through in my young childhood was what I had. Made me the strong person that I am today. No one wants to endure what I did, but that is why I am who I am now. A mother of five children and 3 grandchildren and one more on the way. I have raised all my kids with very little help from their dads. I believe that they turned out to be great adults and kids. As 2 of my kids are still young at this time. I think I am doing a good job.
Mother’s Day Around The Corner
So with Mother’s Day right around the corner, I look at my children and know that I did something great!!! I have brought them into this world and it was alot of work. But that is the kind of work I do not regret one bit. I love and hated some of it. But we all grew out of all this and we have all come out to be pretty good people in the end. I know my kids don’t remember much of what they put me through. But I know they are glad for me still standing by their side and being with them.
I know all mothers have their own story about their kids, whether it be good or bad. In the end we are still their mom and we will always be there for them. No matter what they did or will do. We will be by their side and be their to pick them up if they fall down. They can do no wrong in a mom’s eyes. So as I reflect on my kids, there is not a moment of it all that I ever regret.
Mother’s Day
So when mother’s day comes along, you go and honor your mom for all she has done for you. Cherish her for it all, even though you do not know what she has been through. Just remember that she is your mom and will always be there for you. No matter what!!!
If it is something as simple as taking a day out of your day to spend some time with her. Then, you go and do that. You don’t need money to buy her a gift because I believe that she would just want to spend some time with you instead. We all get busy and we moms know that. It is good to go and spend some quality time with your mom while you can. Sit down with her and just love sitting with her now, cause you may not have that time ever again. Without ever even knowing it, she could be gone without any warning at all!!!
My Mother’s Day With My Mom
When I look back at Mother’s Day and had my mom here with me. As she has passed on, been over 20 years now, not a day goes by that I don’t think about her. So I had a lot of Mother’s Day’s with her, just spending time with her. Telling her how much I love her. She was not one to listen to all of that, but I told her anyway. Because I appreciated her so much for bringing me here! We would sit down, have lunch together, or even just spend the day doing anything she wanted. And when this day comes closer, I just take a moment and remember my MOM. Without her, I would not be here. Then I look at my kids and grandkids and see how blessed I am to have all this. And even more to come. I also know that my kids do cherish and love me for being their mom. How do I know, they tell me that’s how.
Remember don’t take your mom for granted, and cherish the time you have with her now. Even if it is just to visit and if you can’t do that, then a phone call works too. Don’t forget to take lots of pictures, the more the better!!! I know I wish I had done that, but she wasn’t one to have her picture taken. So maybe take one when your mom is not looking. Or get someone to take one of you two together when she is not looking. More of a realistic picture anyways. Or do what my girl does, take a pic when we are on FaceTime.
