Problems with the Internet. Now I know we have all had that issue at one time in the week or the month. Where your connection just seems to be gone. You know your phone was once connected. But now, it is all of a sudden gone.
You go into panic mode. YOU START FREAKOUT!!!
Now, after you take a minute to think about it. It is not the end of the World. Some time away from their devices is a good thing!!!
Kids Start To Complain
But, then one of your kids comes up to you screaming away at you. Telling you they can’t connect to their computer. Or they can’t get their Xbox One to join online. Or the other one, can’t get the internet on his iPad.
Oh, when the kids start to complain about losing the connection to the Internet, then you know it is serious business.
Cause now they have made it your problem. Which means, they want you to fix it. They are all bugging you, which means more stress for you.
You try to keep your calm, try not to let the kids get to you. Talk to them calmly, and tell them you will look into what is the matter. Now you go and look at your device, hoping that it is only happening to them and not to you too.
YOUR COMPUTER IT OUT TOO-NO INTERNET
Oh no, now it is really serious!!! It has come to your devices. Your phone, iPad, computer have no connection!! Which means=no the internet!!!
Now you really have to go and figure out what is going on. Because you work from home and you need your computer to receive the internet.
On the phone with the Internet Provider.
What do you find out?? Your internet is having some issues!! What issues??
- slow internet
- the ping is too high
- congested
Which really means=reset from their end. See if it is fixed. Then you are asked to do a speed test on your device without any other devices connected. So again, you cut everyone off the internet Every single device except the one you are using.
Preferably your computer, because you will need that later. Better off to be a laptop. Cause they neglect to tell you, you will need to connect to the modem. Which is how you get your internet in your house.
They need you to connect the modem with your laptop, so they can get you to do a speed test. See what is going on basically. They may tell you to first just use your phone. But later, you will need your laptop.
With all these issues I was having, I sure felt like I needed a break. Something to help me think and concentrate. So I reached for a snap, my brain food. A great product from Velovita, which is a healthy little packet filled with goodness.
What is a Modem???
A modem, is usually a black square box, with writing on the side. Usually a sticker with your internet modems name and password. The internet person who installed it would have told you all about what it is. In case you ever need to know it. For just these kinds of cases.
This is how you receive your internet inside your house, and how everything connects to the internet. What makes your kids and you happy, also the hubby too.
We all love Netflix, YouTube, Facebook, etc… We all have our own way of using the Internet.
This is most likely where all the problems with the Internet have first started. If not, it could be the Internet just not getting its signal to your house.
If you feel like you need more internet in your house, talk with your provider. They can help you a lot. I found out for all the devices I have in my house, that getting a router would be something to look into. That is what I did. Works great, so many out there, and your provider can help you out there too. Just remember when you get a router, you need to let your provider know you are adding this. So they can fix it on their end and make it work. Fabulous great little item, speeds in wifi are so fast now. If you work from home and also download things. Or even kids play games or watch YouTube, this will be what you will need!!!
Funny Story With Mine
I got the Internet company to fix the ping of my Internet. Made it work and all. Got it all up and running. So it was working and all.
So I had to fix my end of things. Which means I have a router. So I needed to do what was needed to get that to up and running speed. Basically, reset it too. Because it has a problem with it when it loses any connection with the Internet. A hiccup I call it.
So I need to unplug the ethernet cords to it and the power cord. Plug all of them back in, after counting to 30 seconds. All of that done!!
The lights are all on, everything looks good. Tell kids, it’s all good, everything is up and running. Now go play your games, go on the computer, and do whatever else they needed to do.
NO INTERNET!!! Kids still freaking out!!!
Looked into it again. Gave up and I waited an hour. Checked again. Nothing!! Still a problem with the Internet!!!
WHAT COULD IT BE????
Oh my!! I connected the ethernet to the #1 slot, and not into the internet section of the router. Was so funny!!! The kids were not impressed!!
My funny story, I thought was funny. Now I know not to do that again. So when you have problems with the internet, know there is always a simple solution. Maybe you just connected the ethernet cord in the wrong slot for your router. Or even on your modem.
First, go to your Internet Provider and see how they can help you. Maybe you will learn more about how everything works. So if you have this problem again, maybe you will know exactly what to do. When you have problems with the internet and it may be a simple fix.
