Many Recipes With Chickpeas

many recipes with chickpeas

Recipes with Chickpeas are a good thing to have when you have so many cans of chickpeas given to you. You need to find many different ways to use your chickpeas.

These I believe are a vegetarian way of eating, if you do not eat meat. Many people do eat these a lot. I do think you would just use chickpeas as you would meat. Just replace the serving of meat in your recipe with the can of chickpeas.

You can easily make a simple soup using chickpeas. You can also add even more spices to it too if you think that you may want it spicy or more different. It all depends on your tastes and preferences.

I know everyone thinks of hummus when they think of chickpeas. I love having hummus, but there is only so much hummus you can have. So you need to think of other ways to use your chickpeas that you have.

I have added it to my beef chili, just the same as I would add my kidney beans. But I did need some more seasoning added to it. Not much salt needed. Also, I would only add one can of this if you were going to add it to your chili. This is what made me think of recipes with chickpeas, cause I make a lot of chili. I know there are alot of ways to use kidney beans, so must be the same for chickpeas.

Ideas for Using Your Chickpeas

  • salad
  • hummus
  • in a burrito
  • add to your chili
  • chickpea and potato soup
  • chickpea salad ( a good place to look)
  • Falafel ( some good recipes I found)

Why Chickpeas?

Chickpeas are a great source of vitamins, minerals and fiber. They have many health benefits-improve your digestion and helping with weight management and helping to reduce the risk of several diseases. Chickpeas are high in protein and are widely used for a meat replacement in vegetarian and vegan diets. So if you don’t eat meat then this is what you will want to start eating.

Hummus

In a bowl, add can of chickpeas, and 1/3 c. of Tahini. Some extra virgin olive oil-2 TBSP. a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for the zip of flavor. One fresh garlic clove, or even use roasted garlic clove. Some water, start small like 4 tbsp. and go from there. This basically is to get your hummus to the desired consistency you like. Cause you need to remember you are the one that will be eating this. Stir together, and then add all to your blender and blend to your liking. Add a pinch of sea salt also, bringing out the flavors.

I know I have had a few practices making hummus, I haven’t gotten it correct. So I still buy store-bought or deli hummus. I have these with crackers in the morning or for a snack. I have not tried this with bread or tortilla chips. But this is a great filler when you are hungry and just can’t cook right now. Or even a meal replacement for your dinner.
