Sure Miss Camping

Sure miss camping, was not able to go this year at all. Because of a lot of reasons. Weather, fires, and family. Always went camping each and every year. Whether the kids wanted to or not, we always tried to pick a place the kids would love also. Not just for us, but we also needed it to be a good place to come back to.

We have traveled a few places far away from our house. But we have always had fun once we arrived at our destination. I know the kids always find it hard to travel for long periods of time in one day. But once we arrive where we were going, they see how awesome the place is. They are the ones who wish to go back to these places.

The Lazy River

The lazy river was found in an aquatic center in Revelstoke. Great swim spot for sure. Close to where we were camping and not far to drive. Was a great place because it had a slide also connected to the pool. Even had a small section for smaller kids. Need to be sure to go back and bring my grandchildren there. Because they are still little right now.

Our Campsite

It was in Revelstoke and was enclosed in amongst trees, called The Lamplighter. Guess what !!! There was even Wi-Fi there at the site also. Oh, and even showers too. Making it even more of a great spot. Kids and I were able to still play our games and enjoy the outdoors also. We had plug-ins for our electronics too. Guess we could have brought a coffee maker instead of using a camp stove to make our coffee. But maybe next time, we may just do that.

I know my daughter had fun there, cause she had friended a slug. She even wanted to take the slug home.

We did have this fun thing that happened when we were there. We had brought some bubbles there, and we blew them. I guess there was so much dew on the ground, that the bubbles never popped. They actually sat on top of the grass on the ground. Was so neat, that we blew so many bubbles to fill the ground on our campsite. We wanted to go back there again this year but were not able to. We had a fire evacuation alert in our town, so we were unable to leave.

Sure Miss Camping

Why? It is a chance for us to get out of the house and spend time together as a family. We do spend too much time on our devices and do need some fresh air. I know I love it when some places have Wi-Fi so we can have some games on our electronics to play. But at least we have no game systems to play as we do at home.

I love going fishing when we go camping. I spend some time just sitting there fishing and listening to the quiet. It is so peaceful there and I enjoy being by myself. Away from the electronics of my phone and computer. I am always working with my computer since I work from home. So of course I need some downtime, and that is was is great about camping. Being out in nature is great for everyone to unwind and relax, that is another reason why I sure miss camping.

What Do Kids Do When We Camp?

Well, my kids love camping just not the trip to get there. They like going away from home and going somewhere new. They usually go and play in the water, go for walks. Sometimes they will go and fish also. Or they play in the water and build something in the little creek. My son used to bring his 4×4 truck to build a road to play at the campground. But now that he is getting older, he is not interested in that too much now. But he does find a way to entertain himself while we are there.

So as my kids are getting older, we now chose different campsites to go to. I sure miss camping and I think I do more than the kids. So now we pick campsites just out of a city so we can go do stuff in the city and not have to stay in a motel. Like right now we are planning to go to Revelstoke again, for the Enchanted Forest and go to the Aquatic Centre too because I love the Lazy River and its also is baby friendly, because grandbabies are coming this year.

This year will see what else there is in Revelstoke, I did see a train museum. But when we were there last time it was closed. Also, we are close to Three Valley Gap. And we have been there a few times already, so we may skip it this year. Will need to do some more exploring what there is to do over there.
