Crochet or Knitting Which is easier?

crochet or knitting

Crochet or Knitting which is easier?? That is the question others ask when they see a project you have done. It could be either slippers or baby booties, or even as big as a blanket. It depends on the project that you want to do. If it is something where you can’t afford to drop a stitch, then you don’t want to knit the project you’re doing.

As for me, I have tried both. When I was younger, I always told my Mom, that I would not crochet. It looks too hard to do, and there are so many things that you need to know. This is not the case, it’s actually not that hard. Learn the basics first and once you make a few things it does get easier.

Knitting is a bit harder to pick up a dropped stitch if you accidentally do drop one. Which can happen when you just simply put your needles down, or even someone or your cat, bumps your arm. It can happen and has happened to me at times. So if I was to make a blanket, and it’s a big one, I would not want to knit it. But, you can still learn to knit a blanket if you want. Just because there are only so many stitches that can be held on the needles. Also, I don’t want to drop a stitch, which would happen. No matter how careful you are!!

Have lots of yarn and just trying to think of what you can do with it all. Now, there is a lot of things you can do with it. A blanket, all different little color squares. You can make a bunch of crochet toppers for dishcloths.

Have lots of leftover yarn and wondering what to do with it all? Scrap crochet blanket, crochet throw pillow cover, cat toys. Possibilities are endless. Depending on what you do, either crochet or knit. I have found I love making blankets, I have made so many of them. I am now making some for my small armchairs.

My Crochet Projects are some of the work that I have done so far. I have fun trying to make different items after I finish one project. People don’t understand most of the time, it takes a lot of time to make something.

You can even make these easy one-hour crochet slippers by searching on YouTube and you will see how you too can make a pair.

Learning to Crochet is something that is easier than learning to knit. Which is only my opinion? Everyone can choose which one they like.

I always thought I would never crochet. Why? My mom always was crocheting and I said I never would do that. It looked like it took too long. She was always so patient to do what project she was doing. She loved the blankets she made for the couch.

It really is up to you, what you want to learn. Maybe it isn’t even learning to crochet or knit. Maybe you want to have another hobby. I don’t know. But I know after I learned to crochet. I started to look around at what else I can do. Not just crochet with yarn. But you can crochet with yarn and beads. This is something that I want to try, as I have seen it on YouTube. I have lots of beads too. Seems like a lot of threading the beads on. It has to be on the yarn or cotton thread you are using.

Because all you are gonna do is add a bead along the way, as you would normally crochet. I am thinking about trying it and making a small bracelet. For starters anyways, not sure though. As I have to make sure to do this when I am not busy. As of right now, I am too busy, working from home. But sure could use an Energy Drink about now, need that to continue with my day.

We just got in something that is even better than an energy drink, called Bran– it is a simple snap you take when you feel you need a mental boost. From this great company and if you’re in the US they even have sample packs for you to try out. Since they introduced Bran, they have added more. One to help you sleep and even one you can add to your morning coffee and they all work together. Oh and almost forgot they added another one for a youthful look. Need to get some sleep or need help with your hair and skin then they have you covered.

So lately, I have really picked up some speed with doing c2c crochet blankets. I love making these, as they work up quite nicely. I am currently making a blanket for my grandson, and his mom. Using size 4 yarn and a 5.5 crochet hook. Pretty- basic yarn, the colors I chose for the blankets are really nice.

New Projects I Shall Try

I saw somewhere recently that you can also make some facecloths or dishcloths by using the c2c crochet. So I will be trying that after I am done making the blankets. I want to get them done and then move on to another project. But then again, I may end up doing something different and wonder if I should do crochet or knitting.

So if you have heard about this c2c crochet blankets, I can tell you it is something that is so easy to do. You would wish you had tried it out sooner. Because that is exactly how I feel. Wish I had gone and tried it sooner. Would have got the blankets done sooner than later.

But I am glad that I do this now, cause I don’t think I will go back to doing blankets the other way for a while. Unless it’s in a different stitch or a pattern.

These work up pretty fast since your doing the same stitch over and over. If you can do double crochet, you can do this. I basically have so much fun with this c2c that I have made myself so many blankets. I now buy different color yarn to make different color rows. Change it up a bit and I chose a mix of colors and sizes. I also started to make some for others and share my love for crochet blankets with my family members also. I never knew my family loved what I did, till some of them seen my work. Makes me happy to know that they love the blankets I have made.
