My living room is a work in progress because I don’t really have an idea where to start! Do I just empty it out and start like I just moved in? I just have no real clue on where and how to start with the mess called my living room. This room is supposed to be all nice and clean, uncluttered also. But again, that is not the case, cause I have no clue what and where things in this room should go. This is when I would take a snap to help me focus on the rest of my day.
My living room is the very first room you see when you enter my house, maybe that is why I don’t know how or where to start. So I am writing and trying to figure it out. Sometimes and most times, this helps with focusing on the problem. I have a couch set, that is 2 loveseats and one chair, and a tv a small fridge and my office (desk, computers, and papers) So as you see, I have lots going on in my room.
Main Focus In Your Room
I have not figured out what it is. I know I have an office in there where I work each and every day. It is off in the corner of the living room. But I also have a tv or actually 2 TVs in there, one for gaming and one for watching tv. But another dilemma I have is that my area is oddly shaped. Well, to me anyway. It is a long-living area, has a front and back door in the room. So instead of being square, this room is not.
My loveseats kind of face each other, cause if they went the other way. They would block the walk area flow of the house. So it is so much to focus on and figure out.
Maybe that is where I need to start. Figure how my furniture will go in the room and how I want it to work. What is the first thing I want others to see or me for that matter. When you first come in, what should I focus on. Or even if there is anything I want to be the focus at all. Cause right now all you see is all the stuff everywhere, cause it has no where to go. Couches covered with blankets and charge cords everywhere. That is when I wonder, what do other peoples living room look like?
Messy and disorganized just like mine is, or is theres so tidy or just empty cause they don’t know what to do. Cause you see pictures in magazines where the area is all neat and tidy. Looks like no one lives in it, which is very true. But think we trick ourselves thinking that is what our house should also look like. Which is not true, it has people constantly moving in it.
Who Cleans Up The Living Room?
Who does?? Or does it even get cleaned, maybe just tidied up and not actually cleaned. I know I just realized I am the only one that does clean it. My daughter is the one who sits on the couch the most, I do every so often. I am always working my at-home business in my office section of the living room. I have a hard time even cleaning up my desk area. Mainly cause I think my desk area is too small for all the things I need for work in my area. Just seems like I never have enough room.
So with no one helping clean, that it makes me think how much do I want in the room? Do I need everything in there and how much of it do I want in there? Making it easier to clean and manage and not to worry about how it looks. Cause it will have less and less of a mess to worry about.
Cause when I think about mess, I get stressed out. Because I don’t have the time to really clean it or manage it. I am too busy. So again, my living room is a work in progress on how it will be kept.
- what stays in the living room
- what needs to go
- do I need all this in my living space?
- how to decide what stays and goes
- how many blankets
- does it need a lot of cleaning
When Should I Tackle This Task?
Talk to family members and see what their opinions are. They may have an idea I never even considered. When you live in the space and see it everyday, sometimes even you cannot see something different. Hope they have some good ideas for me and my living room will look better in the end.
