Washing Crochet Blankets

Washing crochet blankets when it is time to wash them worries some people. If you know how to wash a knit sweater you will be fine. It does scare some people, just because you do not want to wreck someone’s hard work. At this point, you can only wreck it if you don’t wash it. Cause it holds in all the dirt the longer it doesn’t get washed. So wash it and quit being scared, take care of what you made or was given to you.

Washing crochet blankets is what I think of when I start a crochet blanket.

How To Wash

If you are the one that made the blanket, then you had instructions on the yarn you bought. On the care of your new blanket. Wash in cold water, do not wring them out.

You would treat them the same as you would if you had a knit sweater. You would lay these out flat, most of them do not go in the dryer. Always air dry, and squeeze out as much water as you can. Never wring your knit sweater or crochet blanket. You need to handle these with care and with love.

When you care for your blanket as best as you can, they will last a very long time. In the case of needing repair, you can always find someone that can fix it for you.

Why Crochet Blankets?

  • you choose the colours you want
  • pick the style of blanket
  • length and width you want
  • type of blanket your making it for
  • many different qualities of yarn to choose from

Crochet blankets are great gifts to give someone you love. Helps you to destress from your day. Keeps you busy while you may be watching tv. Making one, and giving them away, is a very great feeling. I love it when I give mine away to someone and the look of appreciation on there face when they get one. Many people do not know how much works goes into making one blanket.

Why I love Crochet Blankets!

I love crochet blankets because crocheting is way easier than knitting. Well, it is for me that is, but some prefer to knit instead. It is a preferred preference on what you want to do. It is up to you and your choice. I find that c2c crochet blankets are my go-to blanket of choice. I love all the different colors there are out there for you to pick. Oh and did I tell you, you can even choose the texture of yarn you want. Rough, fluffy, or thin, or even 2 color yarn with added texture.

Crocheting blankets are a way for me to unwind after work. Keeps my hands busy and I love watching my work turn into a blanket. I have made so many, that right now I am working on a blanket for my bed. But it is a thinner yarn, like a baby yarn. So I was thinking it would be a great blanket for the summer when it is hot out.
My next blanket to make will be another baby blanket since my daughter is having another baby. So that will be another crochet project of mine I need to do very soon. I don’t know about the colours because we don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy. Maybe a neutral color, so that it will be ready on time. Once I knew baby was a girl we started getting pink and purple yarn for blankets.

I know when I gave away one of my blankets I was sure to tell them how to wash it. When it came to the time to wash them. So they didn’t need to worry about washing their crochet blankets.

When You Have Many Blankets

When I have so many blankets I had to start looking at what else to make. So I chose to make a long curtain, with the start day to be significant with something. Gonna be great when I know I will eventually done, but made with love.
