A Good Reason For Using Credit Cards

A good reason for using credit cards? Is there a really good reason? Hmm, well I know I use mine cause they have cashback. Which is like getting paid for using them, as long as you pay them off before you have to pay interest on them. So you would of course use your card wisely and make sure you pay it right away.

I see some people make excuses just to use their card, not just for the cashback part. They say it’s for that, but then they buy things that are clearly not needed. Spending money that isn’t even yours, cause it is credit. You have to pay it back and some extra too. If you forgot you used your card, and let it have interest on the amount you spent. Now, $2 more is added to your amount. Was the item you bought, worth the $2 you have to now pay.

Another Good Reason

Another one is that it is a good way to track your spending habits. You never really know till you actually sit down and look at how and when you spend. Once you see it written down, it is a change in your spending habits right then and there.

  • You spend around lunchtime
  • before you go to work, cause your running late
  • you spend more when out of town
  • with someone else
  • go shopping before you ate
  • late night (snacks)
  • online shopping
  • after you check emails, good deals came in your email.
  • reward to yourself-for keeping on budget

These are just some of the things you may notice in your spending habits. Just to name a few of them. All of us are different in how we spend, but these are the ones I have found from others.

How I Use To spend On my Credit Cards

I used to use mine for food and going out and some big online shopping. I would pay for all my shopping later, and say I will pay half now and pay the other half next month. But in reality, that never worked, I paid for half and always forgot to pay the other half of my bills. Which were of course $200 I had to still pay. Going out of town to shop, these trips added up and only paying half. Never worked for me, that is how I racked up my credit cards. So don’t do that, even though your thinking. Hey, that’s not me and that is what you did. i will remember to pay my bill.

So many of us, say we will do better than someone else. But we are all human and mistakes do happen. So we learn and move on and don’t make that mistake again.

My Credit Cards Are $0

Well, I actually am pretty good with my cards. Being debt-free is great. So, with that, I am very watchful of how and when I use them. I do not spend like crazy, just because I can. Once I realized, I didn’t like having that much debt I got rid of it all. I actually took the time to figure out how much I owed on all my cards and any other debt. I calculated how much it would cost to pay off in 5 years. Seeing how little it actually was in payments, I decided to double my payments to pay it down. Got rid of my debt in a little over 2 years.

I now pay off my credit card each and every time a bill comes in. If I do actually use my credit card. I do use one each month for my home business. I know how much that is each and every month. This card is earning me points for shopping for groceries. I am doing great on getting points and keeping a 0 balance. So earning points is a good reason for using credit cards.

Using Cash and Being Debt Free is Great!!

So when you put your mind to something, you can achieve it. Believe it and make it happen. We did struggle a little, but it was worth it. Cause now my money goes to me and not to creditors. So more happy times for me. Less stress is great, and you can get this too. Just start using cash and no credit cards and you will get there too. I love all the cash I have on my debit card and in my wallet. I don’t worry about where my money goes anymore. I have more money freedom. So put your mind to it, and make a plan on how you will pay your credit cards down.

You know that every little does count. If you start with $40 a month, no coffee and donut from the bakery for you each month. Put it on your card instead. You can clearly make something at home instead of paying for it. Or look at other small contributions you can possibly make.

So don’t think that you can’t do this. You know you can, you just never tried. Why not try. Quit whining about how much debt you have and how about paying it off. Quit penny-pinching and be happy, and pay off your debt. And you will be saying you too are debt-free. A great feeling and you too can have this also.

So what is a good reason for using credit cards? For me, it is for points and for cashback rewards. But do remember you need to pay off the card each and every time you do use it. So you get the rewards and not the problem of credit debt.
